What should I compare when shopping at furniture and home stores like Pottery Barn and Ballard Designs?
Start with delivery and returns, because they decide how risky a big purchase feels. Pottery Barn offers assembly service, click and collect and finance, and its returns window runs 30 days. Ballard Designs also offers click and collect. Both are US retailers, so you can check each review side by side.
