Pros and cons
Pros
- Bedding starts at £2 and queen mattresses run £179 to £249, so a full room can be costed before buying.
- Returns run 28 days, with made to measure and free samples both offered for curtains and blinds.
- Click and collect is a yes and finance is a yes, so small orders avoid the courier and large ones can be spread.
- The guarantee on upholstered furniture runs 10 years.
- Cookware covers stainless, cast iron and carbon steel, with induction readiness and dishwasher safety both yes.
Cons
- Assembly included is a no, so beds, sofas and bed frames arrive ready to build at home.
- Free delivery is a no below £60, and quoted delivery waits run 5 to 12 weeks.
- Dunelm serves the UK only, with GB as its market list, so shoppers outside Britain get no delivery route.
- Firmness options stop at medium, medium firm and firm, so anyone after a soft mattress will not see one listed.
Who it suits
- Households outfitting a whole room in one order, since furniture, beds and bedding covers furniture, beds, kitchen and garden.
- Bedding buyers working to a budget, with sheets and duvet covers from £2.
- Shoppers who want to handle fabric first, since made to measure and free samples are both offered.
Who should look elsewhere
- Pottery Barn, whose store categories run furniture to garden without the DIY line that furniture, beds and bedding adds.
- Ballard Designs, whose store categories are furniture and decor only, so bedding, kitchen and lighting buyers are better served here.
- Anyone shopping outside the UK, where the market list holds GB.
What it does well
The return window is 28 days, long enough to live with an order before deciding it is not right. Click and collect is a yes, which takes the courier out of the loop for anything small enough to carry home yourself. Finance is a yes, and that is where entry spend and later spend part ways: a first order can be spread across months, and a bigger piece bought later does not have to land in one payment. Returns, collection and finance all sit at the same checkout.
Who runs it
The company behind the store is Dunelm (Soft Furnishings) Ltd, with its head office in GB and trading since 1979. A named legal entity is a useful marker for anyone chasing a refund, a delivery problem or a warranty claim: there is a company to point at rather than a trading name that could change. Support runs on chat, phone and help centre, which gives three routes for a query, the help centre, live chat and a phone line.

Frequently asked questions
How long do I have to return something?+
Returns run 28 days, which gives room to wash and sleep on bedding before deciding. Free samples are offered, and made to measure covers curtains and blinds, so a fabric choice can be settled at home rather than in a shop aisle. Support runs on chat, phone and help centre if a return needs starting.
Is delivery free, and how long does it take?+
Free delivery is a no as a blanket rule: the threshold sits at £60, so baskets under that figure pay the courier. Quoted delivery waits run 5 to 12 weeks, which is the figure to plan around for sofas, beds and garden pieces. Click and collect is a yes if you would rather take a small order home yourself.
Can I collect an order in store instead of waiting for delivery?+
Click and collect is a yes, so a bedding or lighting order can be taken from the store rather than waiting for a courier slot. It suits small pieces such as sheets and covers, where the £2 bedding entry price keeps a basket light enough to carry out in one go.
Is finance available for the bigger pieces?+
Finance is a yes, so a larger piece can be spread rather than paid for in one go. Queen mattresses run £179 to £249, and the published guarantee on upholstered furniture runs 10 years, so a spread payment arrives with a long cover behind it. Baskets over £60 also clear the delivery threshold.
Where does Dunelm deliver?+
The store serves GB, with the head office in the United Kingdom. That makes it a domestic option for British households rather than a cross-border one, so shoppers abroad would find no route listed. Store categories run furniture, beds and bedding, covering the lot for anyone planning a full room in one order.
How do I reach someone if a return or delivery goes wrong?+
Support runs on chat, phone and help centre, so a return, a delivery query or a warranty claim can go to the help centre, by chat or by phone. The operating company is Dunelm (Soft Furnishings) Ltd, which is the name to quote on a claim. The store has traded since 1979.
What does the store actually sell?+
Store categories run furniture, beds and bedding, so one brand covers furniture, beds, bedding, kitchen, lighting, decor, DIY and garden. Inside bedding, sheets, duvets and duvet covers and cotton, linen and bamboo set out what is on offer, from cotton and linen through to memory foam.
How long is the furniture guarantee?+
The guarantee published for upholstered furniture runs 10 years, a long cover for a homewares chain. Assembly included is a no, so a sofa or a bed frame arrives ready to build. Return windows of 28 days give room to sit with a finished piece before deciding it stays.
What do mattresses and sheet sets cost?+
Bedding starts at £2, and queen mattresses run £179 to £249. Mattress types cover memory foam, hybrid and latex, with firmness options at medium, medium firm and firm, so the choice runs by construction and feel rather than by any single trial length.
