Our verdict

House by JSD suits readers who want a few themed seasonal pieces rather than a full room of furniture, and who can decide quickly. Founded in 2010 and registered in the United States, it stays a small shop with help by phone and email.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Founded in 2010, the shop has a long trading record behind its seasonal pieces.
  • You can call or write, and there is a help centre for questions you can answer yourself, so a chipped figure does not need a long email trail.
  • The business sits in the United States, so delivery and the return address stay in one country.
  • The range stays on seasonal home decor, from spring nests and carrots to bunny figures, containers and small art.

Cons

  • The return window is 7 days, counted from the day of delivery rather than from the day you ordered, so a piece you want to live with has little time.
  • Orders and paperwork carry House by JSD Designs rather than the shorter storefront name, so check that name if you are hunting for the business on your statement.
  • Outside the United States, delivery cost is arranged at checkout rather than listed with the item, so you cannot read the full order cost while browsing.

Visit

Who it suits

  • Readers who want a couple of themed pieces for one room and can decide inside a 7 day window.
  • Shoppers who prefer ordering from a house-run shop founded in 2010 over a marketplace listing.
  • People who check out from outside the country and are happy to confirm delivery at the checkout step.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Readers shopping for a sofa, a bed or a mattress, since this shop is set up for small seasonal decor.
  • Shoppers who need a long return window to live with a piece before deciding.
  • Readers who want a delivery price shown with the item rather than arranged at checkout.

Who runs it

House by JSD is run by House by JSD Designs, a house shop founded in 2010 by floral designers who wanted to dress rooms for the seasons. It is registered in the United States, and the address it publishes sits in Lexington, Kentucky, the same city where the store opened and where the business still keeps its counter. That matters to you in practical ways. The team that sells the pieces answers questions about them, and support runs on email, phone and help centre. If a figure turns up with a chipped paw or a container arrives dented, you can call, write or check the help centre yourself, which is usually quicker than starting over with another seller.

Frequently asked questions

What does House by JSD sell?+

The range sits in seasonal home decor: bunny figures, nests with eggs and carrots, containers and small art for dressing a room or a table. The business began in 2010 around floral design, so what you browse is themed pieces for the house rather than a broad furniture catalogue.

How long do I have to send an order back?+

You have 7 days from the day the parcel is delivered, and the shipment has to be postmarked inside that window. Count from delivery rather than from the day you ordered, because a long delivery eats into the time you have to look the piece over at home.

Who is behind House by JSD?+

The shop trades under the legal entity House by JSD Designs, which is the name on its terms of service, and it is registered in the United States. The company started in 2010 in Lexington, Kentucky, where the retail store opened and where the published business address still sits.

How established is the shop?+

House by JSD has been trading since 2010, when it opened as a small store in Lexington, Kentucky. A long trading record matters when you are sending money to a home shop you have not dealt with before, and the business is registered in the United States.

Is House by JSD a real shop or only a website?+

It began as a small retail store in Lexington, Kentucky, and it still publishes a store phone line next to its online customer service desk, so there is a physical place behind the site. The company trades under the name House by JSD Designs and has been running since 2010.

Who is House by JSD a good fit for?+

It suits readers buying small seasonal pieces who can decide inside a 7 day return window. If you want a sofa, a bed or a full dining set, this is not the shop, since the range stays in seasonal home decor and the help desk is set up for those orders.

Why does the company name differ from the shop name?+

The site trades as House by JSD while the terms of service name House by JSD Designs as the legal entity. If you are checking where your money goes or need help with an order, quote that legal name when you contact the desk.
