Our verdict
Joybird suits people furnishing a whole US home who want long cover on big pieces. It ranks first on warranty years with lifetime cover, and free samples plus an assembly service take some of the risk out of buying fabric you have not sat on yet.

Pros and cons
Pros
- Warranty is lifetime, and the brand ranks 1 of 78 on it, far above the 5 median across the site.
- Returns run 90 days, which puts Joybird 17 of 106 brands, against a site median of 30.
- Free samples are available, so you can feel fabric and leather in fabric, leather and velvet before committing.
- An assembly service is offered even though assembly is not included, so a large piece can be put together for you.
- Product types span sofas, sofa beds and armchairs, so sofas, sofa beds, armchairs, beds, dining, storage and outdoor furniture can come from one brand.
Cons
- Entry price starts at $1,148, which ranks Joybird 100 of 108 brands on price from, so this is not a budget shop.
- Free delivery is not offered, so the total you pay on a large order is higher than the headline $1,148.
- Assembly is not included, and the paid assembly service adds a further cost on top of delivery.
- Coverage is limited to US, with the company headquartered in the United States, so buyers elsewhere should look at a brand closer to home.
Who it suits
- Families in US replacing a sofa or sofa bed who want a long warranty and a long returns window
- Buyers furnishing several rooms at once, since product types cover sofas, sofa beds and armchairs
- Anyone ordering fabric or leather who wants to handle samples first, as free samples are offered
Who should look elsewhere
- Buyers on a tight budget, because entry price starts at $1,148
- Shoppers outside US, where the range does not extend
- Office and desk buyers, since buerostuhl24 Bürostühle und Büromöbel centres its product types on office chairs, gaming chairs and standing desks
Where it sits among rivals
Joybird prices above most of the field, and it is worth saying that plainly before anything else. Entry pricing starts at $1,148, which places the brand 100 of 108 brands on this measure. So the money is at the top of the table rather than the bottom. Where Joybird pulls ahead is after the purchase. Its warranty is lifetime, and the brand ranks 1 of 78 brands on that figure, the highest position on the measure. The median across the site is 5, so a large gap opens up between Joybird and a typical brand once you are several years into ownership. Returns tell a similar story. You get 90 days to change your mind, which puts Joybird 17 of 106 brands, where the site median sits at 30. Most of the field offers a shorter window, which matters most for a sofa, the kind of purchase people tend to rush. One caution: there is no in-home trial, as 0 days is set at nothing. The long returns window is a comfort net rather than a chance to sleep on a mattress first.
What it does well
The warranty is the headline here. lifetime cover on a sofa or bed is unusual in this category, and it means a frame that develops a problem years into ownership is not simply your cost. Most furniture in this family carries far less. Returns are equally generous at 90 days, and there is no in-home trial, since 0 days is set at nothing. If you want to know how a sofa feels before committing, the practical route is to order free samples of the fabric, leather and velvet options and sit with them at home first. Two things to plan for rather than discover. Free delivery is not offered, so the price on the product page is not quite what leaves your account, and assembly is not included either. A separate assembly service is available if you would rather not do it yourself, which is a sensible choice for a large sectional.
Who runs it
Joybird is operated by Stitch Industries Inc., which sits in the United States. That is the legal entity named in the terms of use, and it is the name on any contract you sign at checkout. The same market shows up in delivery terms: US is where the range is listed as running, so pricing, delivery and warranty terms all assume a US customer. Support runs on phone and help centre, so you can reach a person on the phone or work through the help centre. Phone support is the quicker route for a delivery or damage question; the help centre suits warranty claims that need detail.

Frequently asked questions
What does the cheapest Joybird furniture cost?+
Entry pricing starts at $1,148. That places Joybird 100 of 108 brands on price from, so treat it as a premium range. Free delivery is not offered, which means the figure on the product page is not the whole amount you pay at checkout.
How long is the Joybird warranty?+
The warranty is lifetime, which is the strongest figure on the site at a median of 5 across brands. Joybird ranks 1 of 78 brands on this measure. A longer warranty is the clearest reason to pay more at the start.
How long do I have to return a Joybird sofa or bed?+
You have 90 days to return an order, which puts Joybird 17 of 106 brands against a site median of 30. There is no in-home trial, as 0 days is set at nothing, so this window is the only chance to change your mind.
Can I try Joybird fabric before I order a sofa?+
Yes, free samples are offered, and the range covers fabric, leather and velvet. Ordering swatches first is the sensible move for a large sofa, because the 90 days returns window is generous but a returned sofa is still a hassle. Samples let you check colour and hand against your own room.
Does delivery or assembly cost extra at Joybird?+
Free delivery is not offered, so delivery is a charge rather than a saving. Assembly is not included either, though a separate assembly service is available. Budget for both when you are working out the real cost of a large order, since delivery in the US can be the larger of the two.
Where does Joybird deliver and who runs it?+
The range runs in the United States, and the company is headquartered in the United States. The legal entity behind the site is Stitch Industries Inc., which is the name that appears on your order. If you are outside the US, none of these terms will apply to you.
Can I contact Joybird by phone?+
Support runs on phone and help centre, so phone and help centre are both open to you. A call is the faster option for a delivery date or a damaged parcel. Longer questions about the lifetime warranty tend to go better through the help centre, where there is room for detail.
Can I pay for Joybird furniture in instalments?+
Finance is offered, so a large order does not have to be paid in one go. That matters most at this price level, where entry pricing starts at $1,148. Note that the lifetime warranty is separate from anything you agree with the finance provider, so check both sets of terms.
