What is Oven safe temperature?
In short
The highest oven temperature a pan is rated to handle, in degrees Celsius.
An oven safe rating is the highest oven temperature a pan can take before its coating, handle or base is damaged, given in degrees Celsius. It matters most for cast iron, which handles the most heat, and for nonstick pans, which often carry a lower limit. Caraway rates its flagship pan to 288 °C, Great Jones to 260 °C and East Fork Pottery to 204 °C. Many domestic ovens run hotter than the dial suggests, so leave a margin.
