Pros and cons

Pros

  • Entry price of $7.95 puts it at 5 of 82 brands ranked on price from, so the starting figure is among the lowest in the group.
  • A single range covers decor, wall art and lighting, so lighting, wall art and decor can be finished in the same basket.
  • Support runs on email, chat and phone, so help is available by phone and live chat as well as in writing.
  • Founded 1981, which is a long trading record for a decorative goods seller.
  • Against Dublino Moebel's lighting and mirrors, this range adds wall art and decor to the lighting.

Cons

  • Returns are the weak point: the window is 0 days, while the midpoint across lighting sellers sits at 30.
  • On return days it places 107 of 109 brands, so a faulty or wrong-size order has almost nowhere to go.
  • The market is US, a single market, so there is no cross-border delivery for buyers elsewhere.
  • Sunjoy Group stocks lighting, curtains and decor in a single store, a wider basket than the decor, wall art and lighting listed here.

Who it suits

  • Home owners and renters in US who measure carefully before ordering, since the return window is 0 days.
  • Shoppers who want wall art and lighting in the same order, given the range spans decor, wall art and lighting.
  • Buyers who prefer to ask a person, with support available on email, chat and phone.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Anyone expecting to send a piece back, since the return window is 0 days and lighting sellers in this ranking sit at 30 in the middle.
  • Buyers who want curtains in the same basket; Sunjoy Group stocks lighting, curtains and decor.
  • Shoppers who need mirrors alongside lighting; Dublino Moebel carries lighting and mirrors.

Where it sits among rivals

Abracadabra NYC sits near the front of one ranking and near the back of the other, and that split is the clearest thing to weigh. On entry price it places 5 of 82 brands, so the starting price is among the lowest in the group. On return days it places 107 of 109, close to the end of the table. Readers who weigh price at entry alongside the cost of a mistake later get both readings here: low entry prices, and a policy that leaves almost no room to reverse a decision once the box is open. The gap between the two positions is what separates this seller from shops that pair mid-range prices with a workable return window.

Who runs it

Headquarters sit in the United States, and the company has traded since 1981. A run like that counts for more in decorative lighting and wall art than it would for a fitted product, because the usual problems are a shade that reads differently on a wall and a size that does not match the space, and both are easier to settle with a seller that has been around. After-sales support runs on email, chat and phone, so questions can be asked by phone or live chat rather than only in writing, with a help centre holding the detail on orders, delivery and returns.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the cheapest piece cost?+

Prices start at $7.95 across the home decor collection, and that entry point places Abracadabra NYC at 5 of 82 brands ranked on price from. Budget a single wall against that starting figure, since dearer pieces in the same range will not follow it.

Can I return a piece that is the wrong size?+

The return window is 0 days, so a piece that arrives the wrong size or a shade you dislike is generally kept. That sits well under the midpoint for this category, where 30 is the median across lighting sellers and 30 the median across the site. Measure the wall, check the dimensions, and treat the order as final.

Where does Abracadabra NYC ship?+

The shop runs from US and ships to US, so delivery is a domestic affair rather than a cross-border one. Buyers outside that market are looking at the wrong listing, and sellers here that ship further afield will suit them better. Delivery cost and timing are worth confirming with the team before a large order.

What do they actually sell?+

The home decor range covers decor, wall art and lighting, so lighting, wall art and decor can be mixed in the same order. The listed materials are polyester and glass, which points to light, easy-care pieces rather than solid timber or metalwork. If you need a specific finish, ask on chat or the phone before buying, because the material list is short.

How do I reach someone if something is wrong?+

Support runs on email, chat and phone, so help is not limited to a contact form. Phone and chat suit a quick question about a shade size or a delivery date, while the help centre holds the detail on orders. With returns handled tightly, a conversation before you order is the cheaper route than a return afterwards.

Do they make pieces to measure?+

Made to measure is the exception in this category, where 60.9% of the lighting brands in the ranking are not made to measure, against 39.1% that are. For Abracadabra NYC the listed range is decor, wall art and lighting starting at $7.95, so confirm any sizing before ordering rather than assuming a custom run.

How long has the company been trading?+

Founded 1981 and still selling decorative lighting and wall art, Abracadabra NYC has a long trading record. That counts for more with decor than with fitted goods, because colour and scale are hard to judge from a listing, and a long-standing seller is more likely to have settled its own sizing conventions.

How does it compare with Sofary, Dublino Moebel and Sunjoy Group?+

Abracadabra NYC's entry price is $7.95, which places it at 5 of 82 brands on price from. The other shops are worth weighing on what they stock: Sofary Modern Lighting for Less lists lighting and decor, Dublino Moebel lighting and mirrors, and Sunjoy Group lighting, curtains and decor.
