Our verdict

BHS concentrates its home range on lighting, bedding and textiles rather than broad furniture, which keeps choice focused but narrow. For homeowners and renters, it gives ceiling, wall, table, floor, bathroom and outdoor lights alongside fabrics for a coordinated refresh.

What it does well

BHS does well at keeping lighting choice broad yet home focused. You can pick from ceiling pendants, chandeliers, wall lights, table lamps, floor lamps, bathroom lights and outdoor lights in varied finishes like wood, brass, black, nickel and glass. The bedding and textile range sits beside lighting so you can coordinate a bedroom or living space. Statement pieces add drama while smaller lamps warm corners and bedside tables.

Outdoor security lighting

Outdoor security lights form a dedicated part of the range for gardens, porches, driveways and doorways. Many fittings include built in motion sensors that switch the light on when movement is detected, so approaching areas stay visible after dark. Some models use a light sensor instead and come on as daylight fades. Wall lanterns, flood lights, spotlights and solar powered options all sit among the outdoor choices, giving households several ways to light the outside of a home. Installing them along a path or near a garage door gives a practical way to light those areas.

Company background

The business trades as British Home Stores and operates from Manchester in the United Kingdom. Its online offer centres on lighting, bedding and textiles, which gives the range a clear home focused identity. Because the collection is aimed at the British market, it suits households furnishing homes across that region and with people who want matching lights and fabrics under one roof.
