Pros and cons

Pros

  • Delivery is included with the infrared sauna blanket, so the $519 entry price covers getting it to the door
  • The 3 years warranty runs longer than the 4 category median
  • Finance is available, which spreads the cost of a $519 purchase over time
  • Support runs on email, chat and help centre, so help centre, live chat and email are all open questions channels
  • Vellgus ranks 5 of 25 brands on price from, which places the entry cost towards the affordable end of the field

Cons

  • Vellgus sells infrared sauna only, so anyone after a cold plunge has to look at Bast Sauna or Lay-Z-Spa instead
  • The 3 years warranty still ranks 10 of 18 brands on warranty years, so cover is not the longest in the field
  • Support runs on email, chat and help centre only, and email, chat and help centre does not include a phone line
  • Markets are US and CA, so anyone outside those regions is buying across a border rather than locally

Who it suits

  • Home owners who want infrared sauna heat without a cabin built into the house
  • Renters who need something portable rather than a fixed installation
  • Buyers who weigh the $519 entry price and the 3 years warranty as the deciding criteria

Who should look elsewhere

  • Anyone who wants a cold plunge, since Vellgus lists infrared sauna alone
  • Buyers who need a phone line, because support runs on email, chat and help centre
  • Shoppers outside US and CA who need local delivery and returns

Core features

The core of the Vellgus range is simple to describe: a single product type, infrared sauna. That focus keeps the buying decision narrow, because the sauna blanket is the thing on the price list rather than one option among a cabinet, a tent and a blanket. Cover is where Vellgus is more generous than the category norm. The warranty runs 3 years, against a category median of 4 and a lower quartile of 2. The upper end of the category stretches to 99, so the Vellgus term sits comfortably above the middle without being the longest available. On getting the product home, delivery is included, which matters because the entry price of $519 is then the whole landed cost rather than a starting figure with shipping on top. Finance is also available for buyers who would rather spread that cost than pay it up front. The practical trade-off is that this is a portable format in a small footprint rather than a room. Buyers planning a sauna cabin or sharing heat with a group of adults are looking at a different category.

How it compares on our data

On price from, Vellgus ranks 5 of 25 brands. That places the entry price towards the affordable end of the field, and it lines up with a starting price of $519 that sits well below what the larger sauna and hot tub brands typically ask for a full installation. On warranty years the picture is more mixed. Vellgus ranks 10 of 18 brands, so the 3 years term is respectable against the category median of 4 but leaves a long tail of brands ahead of it, up to 99. Read together, the two rankings say the same thing. Vellgus competes on what you pay at the start rather than on how long the cover lasts, which suits buyers who judge a sauna purchase on entry cost and treat the warranty as secondary.

The company behind it

Vellgus trades as Vellgus Red Light, and its headquarters country is CA. The business is set up around a single category, which shows in how narrow the product list is. Markets listed for the brand are US and CA. Buyers outside those regions are looking at a cross-border purchase, so delivery terms and returns need checking before ordering rather than assuming a local setup. Support runs on email, chat and help centre. A help centre, live chat and email give several ways to ask a question, and the help centre is the natural first stop for setup and care details on an infrared blanket.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Vellgus sauna cost?+

Prices start at $519 for the infrared sauna blanket, and delivery is included, so that entry figure is not followed by a separate shipping charge. Finance is available for buyers who prefer to spread the cost. The entry price ranks 5 of 25 brands in this category.

How long is the Vellgus warranty?+

The warranty runs 3 years, which is longer than the category median of 4 and the lower quartile of 2. In the wider field it ranks 10 of 18 brands on warranty years, so some competitors cover for longer.

What kinds of sauna does Vellgus make?+

Vellgus sells infrared sauna and nothing else in this category. There is no cold plunge and no hot tub in the range, so a buyer wanting a plunge alongside the sauna should look at Bast Sauna, which sells sauna and cold plunge, or Lay-Z-Spa, which sells hot tub, inflatable hot tub and cold plunge.

Where does Vellgus deliver?+

Delivery is included on the infrared sauna blanket in the markets listed, which are US and CA. Buyers outside those regions are making a cross-border purchase and should confirm delivery terms before ordering. The business trades as Vellgus Red Light and is based in Canada.

How do I get help from Vellgus?+

Support runs on email, chat and help centre, so a help centre, live chat and email are all open routes to an answer. A phone line is not among the listed channels, which is worth knowing if you prefer to talk the problem through. Start with the help centre for setup and care questions.

Is Vellgus a good value compared with bigger sauna brands?+

On the numbers here, yes for entry cost. Vellgus ranks 5 of 25 brands on price from, and the $519 starting price comes with delivery included. The cost part of the score is 9.7 against an offer part of 9.1, so the saving is at the start rather than over the years.

Can I pay for a Vellgus sauna in instalments?+

Finance is available, so the cost of a $519 purchase can be spread rather than paid up front. That suits buyers who would rather keep cash for other home purchases. The product type is infrared sauna, so the finance question applies to a blanket rather than a built-in cabin.
