Our verdict

Airweave suits US shoppers who want a firm, adjustable mattress and a long window to change their mind, backed by a 60 night trial and free delivery. The $5,595 queen price and $199 return charge give you pause, so the upfront outlay decides whether the range works for you.

Cons

Who it suits

  • US shoppers who want a firm-feeling mattress they can fine-tune, with a trial of 60 days nights.
  • Couples sharing a bed who want each side set to a different feel.
  • People replacing a bed in California, where free delivery and old mattress removal come together.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Buyers on a tight budget, because a queen mattress is $5,595.
  • Anyone hoping to reverse a purchase cheaply, since sending a mattress back brings $199 in charges.

What it does well

Airweave builds its mattress around adjustable blocks, so the feel is not locked in. The Takumi sits at 28.96 cm, giving a taller stack under the sheet. Buyers get 60 nights with the mattress at home, and a 10-year limited warranty follows the purchase. Delivery is free on all products, and California residents buying a mattress or futon get old mattress removal included.

Pricing

The queen Takumi mattress is $5,595, and free delivery means that figure lands as the whole outlay at checkout rather than a starting point with shipping added on top. The later cost sits in returns: sending a mattress, futon or topper back brings $199 in transportation charges, plus a recycling fee. Read the trial length before you buy, because that return charge is what makes an unused mattress expensive to change your mind about.

Who runs it

Airweave is run by airweave, LLC and based in the United States. Support runs through email, chat, phone and help centre, so a shopper can pick the route that suits the question. The same company handles the trial, the return charges and the warranty, which keeps the path short when an order needs resolving.

Frequently asked questions

How long do I get to try the mattress at home?+

Airweave gives buyers 60 nights with a new mattress, futon or topper, and that trial sits inside a return policy of 60 nights. A mattress has to be slept on for a minimum period before a return is accepted, so the clock starts on delivery rather than on the order.

What does a queen mattress cost, and what does delivery add?+

The Takumi mattress in queen is $5,595, with free delivery on every Airweave product, so shipping does not add to that figure. California residents buying a mattress or futon also get old mattress removal included, which matters when an existing bed still has to go.

What does it cost to send a mattress back?+

Returning a mattress, futon or topper brings $199 in transportation charges, with a recycling fee added on top. That cost only appears if the sleep does not work out, so the length of the trial is worth reading closely before the order goes in.

Is there a warranty on the mattress?+

Yes, Airweave offers a 10-year limited warranty on the mattress. The cover is limited rather than open ended, which means the written terms decide how much use it is for any specific problem.

Can the feel of the mattress be changed?+

Yes. The mattress is built from blocks that can be adjusted on each side, so the feel can be dialled in rather than fixed by the model you happen to pick. The Takumi stands 28.96 cm tall, giving a deeper stack under the sheet.

What else does Airweave sell besides mattresses?+

Airweave sells more than mattresses, including sheets, duvets, pillows and toppers. Pillows start at $115, well below the mattress, so a pillow is the easiest extra to add to a first order and the least disruptive to the budget.

What is the duvet made from?+

The Hyperdown duvet has a cotton sateen shell, and the range also carries sheets, pillows and toppers. Adding any of these sits on the same bill as a mattress, so the two decisions are worth taking together.

Who runs Airweave and how do I reach them?+

Airweave is operated by airweave, LLC and based in the United States. The same company handles the trial, the return charges and the warranty, so a question about an order stays with the business that sold it.
