Our verdict

Bultex suits buyers in France and Monaco who want time on a new mattress before committing, since Bultex will take a previous mattress away and the warranty lasts 5 to 7 years. Shoppers on a tight budget should weigh the flagship queen price before ordering.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Warranty cover runs 5 to 7 years on the Universal mattress, so the bed is covered well past the trial.
  • Bultex can take a previous mattress away for you, so the old bed does not need a separate trip.
  • Bultex delivers free of charge on orders over €100.

Cons

  • The Universal mattress in the queen size costs €1,163, which makes a spare room a big line in any budget.
  • The Universal mattress stands 21 cm tall, so a shallow bed frame needs checking before you order.
  • The MEMOFORM pillow at €49 is a promotion set against a higher normal price, so the cheap way in can move.

Who it suits

  • Buyers who want a long trial and a generous return window before a mattress becomes theirs.
  • Shoppers building out a bedroom, since pillows, duvets and toppers sit alongside the beds.
  • Sleepers who like foam, since Bultex builds both memory foam and hybrid models.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Shoppers outside France and Monaco, who will not find a local delivery route from the brand.
  • Buyers who want a low profile bed, since the Universal mattress stands 21 cm tall.

Core features

The starting point is the trial. Bultex lets a buyer sleep on a mattress for 101 nights before deciding, long enough to see how a bed handles a wet month and a warm month, and how it copes with a changed routine. Warranty cover runs 5 to 7 years on the Universal mattress, so the commitment does not end with the first month. That mattress stands 21 cm tall in the queen size, a deep profile that suits sleepers who like a taller bed and that wants a frame with real support underneath. Bultex delivers free of charge, and it can take a previous mattress away for anyone who would rather the old bed left at the same time. Those are the practical core of the offer: a long trial to decide in, a warranty to lean on afterwards, and a delivery that keeps the work off your list. Buyers who want a deep mattress and plenty of time to sleep on it get the most from this setup.

Plans and prices

Start with the promotional figure. The MEMOFORM pillow is €49 on the promo page, shown beside a higher normal price, so that is the current entry point for accessories rather than a standing price. Bedding is bought per order, so the amount to budget is the figure charged at checkout, not a small intro rate with something cheaper waiting later. The mattress figure is the Universal model in the queen size at €1,163. That number belongs to that mattress in that size rather than to every model, and it is the one to set against a shop's price for a similar bed. Send it back and the return costs €0, so a change of mind is not billed as a penalty. Buyers furnishing a spare room should hold the mattress and the accessories apart in the budget, because the mattress figure sits a long way above the accessory ones.

The company behind it

Bultex is run by COFEL Industries (SAS), the name in the brand's legal notices, and the base is France. The company has been trading since 1984, a long run in a trade where beds are bought rarely and remembered for a long time. A business with that history is the party standing behind the warranty, not just a name on a box. Support runs on phone, email, chat and more, so a question about a trial, a delivery window or a return can go to a person on the channel that suits. That matters most on the awkward calls, such as a mattress that needs collecting, and a help centre gives buyers a place to check the terms before committing. It is all handled from the same company in France, which keeps the answer to a complaint in the same hands as the sale.

Frequently asked questions

How long can I try a Bultex mattress before I have to decide?+

Bultex gives you 101 nights on a mattress before a final call. That is long enough to see how a bed handles a wet month and a warm month, and long enough to notice whether you and your partner settle differently on each side. The deciding happens at home, after the mattress has been delivered and slept on.

What does a Bultex mattress cost in a queen size?+

The Universal mattress in the queen size is €1,163. That figure belongs to that mattress in that size, not to the rest of the range, so treat it as the price of that bed rather than a starting price. It is also the number that moves a budget most, since the accessory figures sit well below it.

Can I send a Bultex mattress back, and what does it cost me?+

Returns are accepted for 14 to 101 days, and a return costs €0. In practice that means a change of mind does not come with a penalty charge, which matters most on a mattress, where the price is the whole decision. Check the terms for the product you are buying, because the window is a range rather than a fixed term.

Is delivery free at Bultex?+

Bultex lists delivery as free, and its terms set the threshold: orders over €100 ship free, while smaller orders pay a small fee. For a bed order that is rarely the deciding number, while a pillow or a topper bought by itself can change the total, so the size of the order is worth checking before you pay.

How long is the Bultex warranty?+

Warranty cover runs 5 to 7 years on the Universal mattress. That is a long stretch for a bed, and it runs well past the deciding stage, so the cover is there long after the choice is made. The exact term depends on which mattress you pick rather than sitting at a single figure across the range.

What kinds of mattresses does Bultex make?+

Bultex sells memory foam and hybrid mattresses, so there is a foam option and a hybrid option to choose between. A hybrid build mixes springs with foam, which tends to feel more sprung, while a foam build is the one to look at if you want the bed to take the shape of your body. Both are part of the range rather than one-off models.

Can I choose how firm my Bultex mattress feels?+

Bultex offers soft, medium firm and firm feels, so the choice runs from a soft surface through a medium-firm middle to a firm one. That choice matters more than any extra feature, because a bed you find too soft will not be rescued by anything else in the range. If you sleep with a partner, it is worth agreeing on a feel before the order goes through.

What bedding extras does Bultex sell, and what are they made of?+

Alongside the mattresses, Bultex sells pillows, duvets and toppers, and the materials run to cotton and memory foam. The certification carried on the bedding is oeko tex, a textile safety mark rather than a promise about how long a pillow lasts. Ordering a duvet and a pillow together lets the basket clear the free delivery threshold in the same drop.
