Our verdict

Newton Baby is a strong pick for anyone furnishing a nursery on a budget and planning to keep the crib long after the baby outgrows it. Entry price of $199.99 and a lifetime warranty do most of the convincing.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • A lifetime warranty, where the mattress ranking's median is 10 years, and the brand places at 1 of 73 on that measure.
  • An entry price of $199.99 for the essential crib mattress, against a queen price median of €1,001.89 across the wider site.
  • Free delivery on every order, with the free delivery threshold sitting at $0 and the return fee at $0.
  • Materials of fabric and wood and certification under greenguard and gots, which covers a crib surface where the site median trial is 60 nights.
  • Support runs through email, chat and phone, so a parent with a question has a phone line as well as a written one.

Cons

  • A trial of 100 days nights trails Eve Sleep at 200 nights, which leaves more room to change your mind on a full-size bed.
  • The maximum user weight is 45.4 kg, so the mattress is built for a crib rather than an adult sleeping on it.
  • A return window of 14 to 100 days starts short at the lower end, well under the 100 days seen higher up the ranking.

Who it suits

  • Parents setting up a nursery who want a low entry price and a warranty that lasts well past the first bed.
  • Shoppers in the US and Canada who want free delivery and a phone line on email, chat and phone.
  • Anyone starting with a crib mattress at $199.99 and adding to the room later, given the range of armchairs, bed frames and storage.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Eve Sleep, if a longer trial matters more than price, since its trial runs to 200 nights.
  • Coop Sleep Goods, if a shorter warranty suits you better, since its cover runs 1 to 5 years.
  • Silentnight, if you want a shorter trial commitment than the 100 nights offered here, as its trial runs 60 nights.

How it compares on our data

Two rankings stand out. On warranty length, Newton Baby places at 1 among 73 brands, with a lifetime term, the highest value the site records. On trial length, the same brand sits at 18 of 83, with 100 nights level with the 100 mark rather than the 365 ceiling. Those two positions describe the trade-off: the cover is unusually long, the trial is a solid middle-of-the-field number, and a shopper who weights the trial first will find longer options elsewhere.

Core features

The core of the offer is a trial of 100 days nights, paired with 100 days of in-home trial time, so a decision can be made in the room the mattress will actually sleep in. The height of 13.97 cm suits a crib profile rather than a full adult bed. Delivery is free on every order, with the free delivery threshold listed at $0 and arrival running 1 to 2 weeks. Against a site median queen price of €1,001.89, the $199.99 entry point is where the brand separates itself.

The company behind it

The brand trades as Newton Baby LLC and is headquartered in the United States, shipping into US and CA. Service is handled through email, chat and phone, which pairs written help with a phone line and live chat. That combination matters more here than a large catalogue: the range sits at armchairs, bed frames and storage, so a parent buying a first sleep surface is more likely to need a clear answer on fit and safety limits than a broad choice of models.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Newton Baby mattress cost at the entry point?+

The essential crib mattress is priced from $199.99. That sits at the very bottom of the site range, where the lowest queen price on record is €109.62 and the median is €1,001.89. The figure is a starting price for the smallest item in the range, not a full-size bed.

How long is the trial period and does it happen at home?+

Newton Baby offers a trial of 100 days nights, and the in-home trial period is 100 days, so the mattress is assessed in the room it will be used in. That is longer than the 60 night median across the site, though shorter than the 365 night maximum.

How long is the warranty on a Newton Baby mattress?+

The warranty is lifetime, which is the longest term on the site. The brand ranks at 1 of 73 on that measure, against a mattress ranking median of 10 years.

Does delivery cost anything and how long does it take?+

Delivery is free, with the free delivery threshold listed at $0, so the full order qualifies. Arrival runs 1 to 2 weeks, which is at the quicker end of the range the site records, where the longest wait is 8 weeks.

Which countries does Newton Baby ship to?+

The brand is based in the United States and serves US and CA. Its headquarters are in the US and its listed markets cover the US and CA, so delivery outside those markets is not something the stated facts cover.

What is the maximum weight a Newton Baby mattress supports?+

The maximum user weight is 45.4 kg, which is a crib specification rather than an adult one. The mattress height of 13.97 cm points the same way, so anything larger should be looked at elsewhere in the range.

What materials and certifications does Newton Baby use?+

The listed materials are fabric and wood, covering the cover and frame. Certification runs to greenguard and gots, so the range is stated against those two schemes rather than a wider list of them.

How do you get hold of Newton Baby support?+

Support is available through email, chat and phone, which includes a phone line as well as written help. That matters for a first nursery purchase, where questions about the 45.4 kg limit and the 1 to 2 week delivery window tend to come up before the order goes in.
