Our verdict

Softub suits buyers who want a simple, portable hot tub that needs no install fuss and arrives ready to fill. It is not the cheapest way in, since price from £5,990 sits high among the brands compared, and its range is narrow: hot tubs only.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Plug and play, so there is no install project before the first soak
  • Delivery included, which keeps the landed cost close to the listed price from £5,990
  • Seats max of 6 people suits a family or a group of friends
  • Support runs on email and phone, so a phone call is an option

Cons

  • Product types cover hot tubs alone, while Lay-Z-Spa and Saunaloft both list inflatable hot tubs as well
  • Price from £5,990 is well up the price comparison, so entry cost is the weak point
  • Support channels listed are email and phone, with no chat or help centre option
  • A 1.4 kW heater is modest next to the larger capacity rivals carry

How it compares on our data

Softub sits high in our price comparison and mid table on capacity. On price from, it ranks 23 of 25 brands, so the entry figure is the side that needs the most explaining. On seats max, it ranks 13 of 21, which puts its largest tub right around the middle of the field rather than at either end. That combination tells you what you are choosing. You are not buying the cheapest entry point in the category, and you are not buying the biggest room for a group either. The number to weigh first is the ticket price, then capacity, and the rest of the range follows from the same simple positioning.

Core features

The core spec is deliberately plain. Seats max is 6 people, so the largest Softub tub holds a group rather than a couple, and it is worth checking that a space that size fits your patio or deck before you order. The heater is 1.4 kW, which reads as a warm-soak setup rather than a hot plunge. Two practical details matter more than the spec sheet. Plug and play means the tub runs from a standard connection with no fixed install, so you can move it or take it with you if the property changes. Delivery included means the quoted price covers getting the tub to you, which keeps the real cost close to the entry figure rather than adding a delivery line later. The catch sits in the range. Product types cover hot tubs only, so a Softub order is a hot tub and nothing else.

The company behind it

Softub is run by Whirlpool & Living GmbH, with its headquarters in Germany. The company is a German entity serving the UK and German markets, and that split matters when you read delivery terms or support promises: the UK-facing site and the German-facing site are separate fronts for the same business. Support runs on email and phone, which covers a phone line and email. A phone channel is the practical one for a hot tub, where questions about water treatment, heating or setup are easier to talk through than type out.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Softub hot tub cost?+

Softub lists a price from £5,990, and delivery is included at that entry point. That figure covers getting the tub to you rather than adding a separate delivery charge later. It ranks 23 of 25 brands in our price comparison, so it is not the lowest ticket in the category.

Do I need to install a Softub hot tub?+

No install work is needed. Plug and play is listed as a feature, so the tub runs from a standard connection and can be moved if your setup changes. It also means no fixed base to build, which suits renters as well as homeowners.

Is delivery charged on top of the price?+

Delivery is included, so the price from £5,990 is not simply a product figure. There is no separate delivery line to add at checkout. That makes the listed entry figure the number to budget against.

How many people fit in a Softub hot tub?+

Seats max is 6 people, which makes the largest Softub tub a group and family option rather than a two-person soak. Softub ranks 13 of 21 brands on this measure, so it sits mid field. Measure the space before ordering, since the footprint follows the seating.

What can I buy from Softub?+

The range is hot tubs only. Product types list a single category, so there are no saunas, cold plunges or inflatable models in the Softub range. If you want those, Lay-Z-Spa lists hot tub, inflatable hot tub and cold plunge and Saunaloft lists hot tub, inflatable hot tub and swim spa.

How warm does a Softub tub get?+

The heater is 1.4 kW, which points to a warm soak rather than a plunge. That works well for evening use after work or a family cool down. If you want a colder recovery routine, that is where a cold plunge from a wider range like Lay-Z-Spa fits instead.

How do I contact Softub support?+

Support runs on email and phone, so a phone call or an email both reach the team. A phone call suits most hot tub questions, since heating, water treatment and setup are easier to talk through. The legal entity behind the brand is Whirlpool & Living GmbH, based in Germany, serving UK and German customers.

Does Softub sell in the UK?+

Softub serves UK customers, with the UK site listing the price from £5,990 in pounds. Delivery is included and the tub is plug and play, so arrival and setup are both straightforward. The company is Whirlpool & Living GmbH in Germany, and it also serves the German market.
